STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) - The Plover man accused of assaulting his girlfriend with a baseball bat is now facing a list of felony charges including attempted homicide.

33-year-old Jason Hyatt is now accused of attempted homicide, kidnapping, first-degree reckless endangerment, stalking, intimidation, aggravated battery, false imprisonment and bail jumping.

Plover police arrested Hyatt October 6th after his girlfriend told them Hyatt tied her up and struck her with a baseball bat. According to the complaint, the victim told police Hyatt ambushed her after she came home from a bar with a friend, and started striking her with the bat. He then tied the victim up and tried feeding her sleeping pills which she spat out.

The victim said he tried apologizing, but then tied her to a bed to keep her from escaping and refused to take her to the hospital. She managed to get away when he fell asleep and called police.

Hyatt remains jailed on a quarter million dollar cash bond. He'll be back in court October 24th.
