WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) - An area radio station is holding another event to benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Midwest Communications radio station Great Country 101.9 WDEZ already hosts the St. Jude’s radiothon every February, but they’re adding a rummage sale this coming Sunday, September 8th.
Morning show host Nikki Montgomery says her partner Bryan Scott came up with idea, and believed it was a great idea. “We decided earlier this year to do a rummage sale for St. Jude’s. It’s another way for us to keep St. Jude’s top of mind in the area, and another way for us to raise money to help the kids.”
The rummage sale for St. Jude’s will be held in the parking lot of the Midwest Communications Broadcast Centre in Wausau at Sixth and Scott Streets from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Montgomery says they are still taking donations for the sale, but quite a few items have been donated already. “We’ve got tons of donations from people, which is fantastic. We’ve got a big selection of stuff, and now it’s just a matter of doing the sale.”
Along with the bargains, Crossroads County Market and Marth Wood Shavings have teamed up to provide lunch, with the proceeds going to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
Montgomery says all of the donations will go to a good cause. “100% of the proceeds are going to go to St. Jude. Any leftover items we have are going to go to Goodwill.”
Some of the items donated for the St. Jude’s Rummage Sale include furniture, books, games, puzzles, toys, some baby and children’s clothes, women’s clothes, men’s clothes, purses and bags, home décor, tools, exercise equipment, glassware, humidifiers, a dehydrator, a new handmade children’s picnic table and much more.
If you would like to donate items or have questions about the sale please contact Great Country 101.9 WDEZ by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling (715) 842-1672.
