Ress found guilty of amended charges, remains in prison

WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. (WSAU) - A Marshfield man already in prison was found guilty of amended felony charges Wednesday.

24-year-old Tyler Ress was found guilty after pleading no contest to amended charges after punching a pregnant Carrie Lynn Mayhone in the stomach and dousing her with gasoline. He then threatened to light Mayhone on fire.

Ress will remain in prison, but some of his charges were reduced. Felony causing abortion was reduced to misdemeanor battery. Recklessly endangering safety was reduced from first-degree to second-degree. Disorderly conduct and having contact with the victim charges were dismissed and will be read into sentencing at a new sentencing hearing October 18th.
