Accused killer bound over for trial


STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) - The man accused of sexually assaulting and murdering a woman that lived in the same Plover apartment building has been bound over for trial. 32-year-old Jose Luis Flores Aca’s preliminary hearing was Wednesday. Prosecutors presented enough evidence to Judge Thomas Flugar to convince him that Flores Aca may have killed 36-year-old neighbor Jamie Koch August 7th.

Jose Luis Flores Aca faces charges of first-degree intentional homicide, first-degree sexual assault, and hiding a corpse. Koch’s body was found in a Waupaca County farm field in her partially burned car.During interrogation, Flores Aca told investigators he had been out drinking and was unable to speak with a former girlfriend. When Koch greeted him in the hallway of the apartment building, he admitted punching her and strangling her with his hands and her bra.Flores Aca is scheduled for a plea hearing October 7th in Portage County court. He remains jailed, unable to post a one million dollar cash bond.
