MADISON, Wis. (WSAU) - Tomorrow is the last day to sign up for Governor Walker's Small Business Summit in Stevens Point later this month.
Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch says the conference will help answer some questions about pending changes to payroll and hiring employees. "What is it going to look when the Affordable Care Act is finally implemented in Wisconsin, and what are these changes to unemployment going to mean for me?" You'll also take part in panel discussions, talk with other business owners and get a chance to discuss thing with the Governor and the state Cabinet.
The keynote speaker for the summit will be Steve Pemberton, Divisional Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer for Walgreens. Mr. Pemberton will speak about employing people with disabilities and Walgreens’ employee diversification program.
Kleefisch says the 50 dollar cost is a small price for what you're going to get. "Amazing programming, you're going to hear from some remarkable leaders, you're going to get breakfast, lunch and a base of knowledge that is really unparalleled anywhere."
Registration closes tomorrow, and the full day conference is scheduled for September 25 at the Holiday Inn in Stevens Point.
