ROTHSCHILD, Wis. (WSAU) - The Bloodcenter of Wisconsin is looking for your help Friday afternoon at a blood drive in Rothschild.
Spokeswoman Vicki Bohman says area hospitals are in critical need of blood. "We have less than a one day supply of a number of critical blood types including O Negative, which is the universal blood type." Bohman says they'll be taking all types of blood, though.
The blood drive runs Friday from 12 to 5 pm at the Rothschild village hall. You are welcome to drop in, but Bohman says you should call ahead for an appointment if you know you're coming.
If you are heading out to donate blood, Bohman says you should eat a good meal, get plenty of rest and plan to be gone for about an hour. You will need a valid driver's license to donate blood.
For more information or to sign up for a donation time, call the Bloodcenter at 1-888-310-7555.
