Bucki says he's not guilty of murdering his wife

MERRILL, Wis. (WSAU) - The Merrill area man accused of killing his wife this past spring entered “not guilty” pleas to all charges Friday.

49-year-old Mark Bucki appeared before Judge Jay Tlusty for the plea and arraignment hearing on charges of first degree intentional homicide, hiding a corpse, and strangulation and suffocation.

Anita Bucki was found dead in a swamp northeast of Medford May 10th.

Anita and Mark were having marital problems, and she had not been staying at their home for a couple of weeks before she disappeared. Mark Bucki told detectives he cleaned out and burned several of Anita Bucki’s items during the time she was missing and before she was found.

Attorneys will present motions to the court October 1st. Mark Bucki will remain in the Lincoln County Jail for now, unable to post a one million dollar cash bond.
