WAUSAU, Wis (WSAU) Wausau public safety officials are investigating why the Riverview School sirens didn't go off during yesterday afternoon's weekly test.
The tornado sirens are tested at 1:15pm on the first Monday of each month. But the Riverview sirens - which notify most of the north end of the city in case of emergency - were silent. The extreme weather during the winter may be a factor. A city public works employee was on-scene to investigate.
During the failed test, sirens from other parts of the city could be heard in the Riverview neighborhood.
