MERRILL, Wis. (WSAU) -- The third day of a Lincoln County murder trial gets underway this morning in Merrill. The first full day of testimony included a few interesting pieces of information.
The 9-1-1 call placed by the defendant, Mark Bucki to Lincoln County dispatchers was played for the jury. In the call, he disclosed that his marriage was falling apart, and that it could be the reason Anita Bucki went missing.
Witnesses included two of the victim’s friends, who read the court text message they had received about the Bucki’s relationship. The court also put Angela Matheson on the witness stand. She’s the woman believed to be Mark Bucki’s girlfriend at the time of his wife’s death. Matheson denies being his girlfriend.
Also entered into evidence was a red shirt with dried blood, which was identified as one of Anita Bucki’s shirts.
The jury remains sequestered during the entire trial. They will not have access to media or the public until the trial is over.
Testimony resumes at approximately 8:30 this morning before Lincoln County Judge Jay Tlusty.
