MARSHFIELD, Wis. (WSAU) -- Marshfield’s train-crossing issues are becoming well known, but that’s not the only place in Wood County that’s having problems. It turns out that crossings along old Highway 10 and on the outskirts of Wisconsin Rapids are being blocked for hours. That’s according to several Wood County Board members like Mike Feirer who says, “From the Auburndale railroad track all the way to Junction City, they’re having seven hour delays. The train is blocking the road for seven hours!” He added that, “The railroad commission, or whoever it is, has been sent four citations already. They haven’t answered one of them.”
The blockages have been causing problems for many residents, who complain that they can’t even leave their homes. Feirer also serves as a Marshfield alderman, so he’s dealing with train crossing issues county-wide. The Wood County sheriff has been notified of the problem.
