CECIL, Wis. (WSAU) -- A three vehicle crash involving a motorcycle, a car, and farm equipment has put two people in the hospital.
A crash happened Tuesday evening at 8:51 p.m. on Highway 22 north of Cecil.
Shawano County deputy Jesse Sperberg says the crash happened when a passenger car struck a farm tractor pulling a trailer. He says the motorcycle then got involved in the wreck. The operator of the tractor and the motorcycle driver are hospitalized. The motorcyclist was flown by Eagle III medical helicopter to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Green Bay. The tractor operator was taken by Shawano ambulance to the same hospital.
Highway 22 was blocked by the crash for several hours, and traffic was detoured using Cheese Factory Road, Lily Pond Road and County Highway V. Traffic is now back to normal.
Shawano County Sheriff’s Department deputies assisted by Cecil-Washington EMS and Fire units, Shawano Ambulance, Wisconsin State Patrol, and the Shawano County Highway Department. It took over six hours to clear the scene and reopen Highway 22 to normal traffic flow.
