MILWAUKEE, WI (LEARFIELD-WSAU) Soft-tossing right hander Roberto Hernandez shut down the Milwaukee offense for most of the night, but the home team had some late-inning fireworks. The Brewers scored seven times in the last two frames to take a 9-3 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers and keep their lead in the National League Central Division.
L-A had scored two runs in the top of the seventh to take a 3-2 lead when the Brewer bats exploded. A bunt by Martin Maldonado tied the score, then an error allowed Milwaukee to go ahead. Gerraro Parra knocked in two with a single to make is 6-3. Rickie Weeks put the icing on the cake with a three-run homer in the eighth.
Jeremy Jeffress picked up his first win and Aramis Ramirez and Parra each had two hits. Brandon League took the loss.
Former Brewer Zach Greinke goes for the Los Angeles tonight. He will be opposed by Mike Fiers in the 7:10 p-m game. You can hear the game on WSAU.
