LOS ANGELES, Cal. (WSAU) -- Yovani Gallardo outpitched one of the two best pitchers in baseball, leading the Milwaukee Brewers to a 3-2 win in Los Angeles Saturday night.
Gallardo went eight innings, allowing just six hits and a run, with three strikeouts and a single walk. He improved his record to 8-6 with the decision over Cy Young Award candidate Clayton Kershaw, breaking his 11-game winning streak. Ryan Braun hit his 15th homer in the fourth inning and Carlos Gomez belted number-19 in the sixth.
The Brewers extend their division lead to three games with the win, and will start Wily Peralta today with coverage beginning at 2:35pm on WSAU.
