ROTHSCHILD, Wis. (WSAU) -- Chicago Police have arrested a Wausau man suspected in a Rothschild bar shooting.
Rothschild police chief Jeremy Hunt says 27-year-old Alex Hammoc is being held in the Cook County jail on a warrant from Marathon County. "We were aware he may be in that area and made contact with the local authorities, and the local authorities made an effort to pick him up, which they did."
Hammoc is accused of shooting a man during a bar fight outside of PJ's Log Jam on Business 51 earlier this month. He's facing charges of recklessly endangering safety, substantial battery, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and pointing a gun at a person.
The 25-year-old victim has been treated and released and did not suffer life threatening injuries.
Hunt says there's no word when Hammoc may be transported back to Wausau but that the Marathon County and Cook County district attorney offices are working out that arrangement this afternoon.
