WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) -- A trial date has now been set for an Antigo man accused in the death of girlfriend during a traffic accident in April of 2013.
27-year-old Brandon Bender of Antigo faces charges of 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety and operating a vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance. Online court records show a five day trial has now been set for March 23, 2015.
According to the criminal complaint, Bender admitted drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana before driving his truck through Elderon April 7th. His girlfriend, 27-year-old Catherine Borchardt, died from severe trauma to the head after she fell out of his truck.
Bender remains free on a 15-thousand dollar signature bond, but must remain at home except under specific work, child care, and appointment conditions.
He'll be back in court for a scheduling conference September 15.
