MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) -- Just in time for the new school year, a housing complex for students is now open in Marshfield. Kelly Young is chief operating officer for student housing developer “Bluffstone” from the Quad Cities,” and says new residents are already moving into the apartments, and they’re giving their new homes, “two thumbs up!”
School spirit is reflected in the building’s new name, “Marauders Villas,” named after the campus basketball team, and each apartment features four private bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a shared kitchen and living area. The new apartments house up to 96 students from both the U.W. and Mid-State Technical College, and they’re already about 70% filled-up.
The apartment complex was built as a public-private partnership. Bluffstone owns, operates, and maintains the new facility, while the land is owned by the University of Wisconsin Foundation.
