EDGAR, Wis. (WSAU) -- You may see more purple these days, as groups bring awareness to teen dating violence problems.
President Obama declared February National Teen Dating Violence Awareness month. Several schools and community groups have been holding events and wearing or displaying purple.
If you’re going to the Edgar High School girls basketball game Tuesday, the players will have purple shoelaces, and fans wearing purple get a dollar off tickets. The Women’s Community is also working with them to answer any questions from students or parents, and they will have information on teen dating violence that people will be able to take home with them.
Several schools have purple themed events lined up this month.
