WAUSAU, Wis (WSAU) A judge ordered a Wausau man to stand trial after taking nearly $10,000 in a blackmail scheme. 23-year-old Montrell Stinson became friends with a cognitively disabled man. He sent the man a nude photo of himself, and then convinced him it was a crime to open and look at the picture. He demanded money instead of going to the police.
At yesterday's preliminary hearing two police officers testified that the victim's bank account was drained.
A judge ruled there is enough evidence for a trial. Stinson will be arraigned later this month. His trial is scheduled to begin May 28th.
