SOCHI, Russia (WSAU-Wheeler News) -- 28-year-old Prairie du Chien native Matthew Antoine delivered two exceptional runs to take the bronze medal in the men’s skeleton at the Sochi Winter Olympics.

Antoine bested Latvia’s Tomass Dukurs in the final run by three-tenths of a second to claim the final podium spot, behind gold-medal winner Alexander Tretiakov of Russia and Martins Dukurs of Latvia.

He is also the first American to win a skeleton medal since Jimmy Shea in 2002.
