STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) -- An area chef is entering a campus cuisine competition. Angel Alcantar is in charge of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point’s food services, and has been their executive chef for the past five years. He’s taking on the challenge of the National Association of College and University Food Services best campus chef competition. Alcantar will travel to Michigan State March 2nd, and if he advances, would move on to the national competition in Baltimore in July.
Normally, Alcantar is busy with UWSP dining operations and the mostly-student staff that helps handle hundreds of visitors daily.
