McAdoo Leaves Pack For Giants OC Job

GREEN BAY, WI (LEARFIELD-WSAU) Green Bay Packers' assistant coach Ben McAdoo has been named the new offensive coordinator for the New York Giants.  Giants' coach Tom Coughlin interviewed McAdoo on Monday, and he was hired yesterday to replace retiring coordinator Kevin Gilbride.

The 36-year-old McAdoo was one of seven remaining coaches from Mike McCarthy's first staff in Green Bay in 2006.  McAdoo was the Packers' tight end coach for six years, and the quarterbacks' coach for the past two seasons.

Coughlin says McAdoo is a quote, "detailed, very, very meticulous coach who has been greatly influenced by Mike McCarthy."

McAdoo calls the Giants' job a "golden opportunity."
