MADISON, WI (LEARFIELD-WSAU)While four ex-Wisconsin Badgers play in the upcoming Super Bowl, five others will audition for the N-F-L at this week's Senior Bowl to be played Saturday in Mobile Alabama. Green Bay Packers' general manager Ted Thompson is among an army of pro scouts checking out the nation's top talent from last fall's group of college seniors.
The Badgers will have three players on offense for the North squad -- running back James White, receiver Jared Abbrederis, and tight end Jacob Pedersen. Linebacker Chris Borland and defensive back Dezmen Southward are part of the North defense. Practices begin today.
Meanwhile, three former Badgers are gearing up for the Super Bowl as members of the Seattle Seahawks -- quarterback Russell Wilson, linebacker O'Brien Schofield, and safety Chris Maragos. Wilson threw the game-winning touchdown pass in yesterday's N-F-C Championship Game, while Montee Ball -- a rookie -- is one of two solid rushers for the Denver Broncos.
Two ex-Packers also have a shot at a Super Bowl ring on February 2nd -- linebacker Paris Lenon, who's now with Denver, and Seattle offensive tackle Breno Giacomini.
