UNDATED (WSAU) -- As the cold weather sets in again, many people that heat their homes and businesses with propane are feeling the pain, both in the wallet and the tank.
Propane is in short supply, and we all know what the basic law of supply and demand means. Supplies go down, the the price goes up. Way up. Many propane suppliers are out of fuel, and are even calling on competitors to see if they have fuel for their customers. When they do fine propane, it’s expensive.
The price has jumped over a dollar fifty, and higher in some areas. There are reports of some clients paying between $4.00 and $4.50 a gallon. Economists believe this is a short term problem until supply lines can restock the fuel in the region. With sub-zero temperatures this week, many people say those supplies can’t get here fast enough.
