ROTHSCHILD, Wis. (WSAU) -- An event for central Wisconsin’s ladies was also an opportunity to restock the cupboards at an area charity.
WIFC Radio hosted Ladies Night Out at the Patriot Center Thursday evening. Morning show co-host Stacy Cole from Kallaway On The Rise says along with the fashion show, the vendors, and unique ways to let women enjoy themselves, they also collected food donations for The Neighbor’s Place, which is a United Way affiliated food bank, furniture and basic needs supplier, educational center, and computer lab serving Marathon County.
Cole says the Ladies Night Out crowd was close to 350 people, and they were very generous. “We raise a lot of awareness for them around the holidays, but now with the holidays over, that need does not go away, especially in our area. The food goes for The Neighbor’s Place, and our listeners are fabulous. We have, easily, over 150 pounds of food that we’re going to be donating.”
Once the one-evening event is over, WIFC’s staff will gather the food and take it where it’s needed. Cole says, “We do a lot of these food donation programs throughout the year, and we just take the food right over to them.”
Ladies Night Out is in its first year, and was very successful on a weeknight. The event is similar to their previous Mind, Body, and Spirit event that used to be held on weekends.
