WAUSAU, Wis (WSAU) A Wausau man is charged with assaulting and threatening to kill a woman he'd met on-line. The two were together for the Independence Day weekend. The victim asked 27-year-old Brian Rossell to leave her home. When he refused to go, she said she'd call the police.
Rossell is accused of smashing the woman's cellphone, throwing her to the ground, and threatened her. A police report said Rossell told her that "she'd better hope he doesn't make bail" and that he'd "come back to take care of her."
She was able to leave her house and call police from a nearby business.
Rossell is charged with battery, strangulation, false imprisonment and intimidation. He's being held on $10,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 16th.
