MERRILL, Wis. (WSAU) -- A former gas station employee is now being charged with theft. Lincoln County Sheriff’s investigators say the 18-year-old woman was working as a clerk until recently. She was fired due to unexplainable inaccuracies in her reports.
When questioned by deputies, the woman admitted stealing $1,300 dollars worth of scratch off lottery tickets from her former employer. She would scratch them off and redeem the winning tickets.
The thefts happened during the first week of July. The woman’s name will be released after formal charges are filed.
