WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) -- There's a week to go before the Wisconsin Valley Fair gets underway in Wausau and officials say preparations are underway at Marathon Park.
Administrator Maria Budnik says volunteers are already getting the 4-H areas of the fair ready for next week. "We have some really great workers out there setting up our youth exhibits where they'll be housed the week of the fair, setting up all the barns, all the pens, those sorts of things." Later this week the Midway will start getting set up. "Our vendors start to roll in here the end of the week, have those spaces all laid out, and all those last minute details, making sure that all our i's are dotted and t's are crossed."
While the park remains open through the week, Budnik asks people to be aware of the work going on. "And just be respectful, and if it looks like you can't get through an area, just go around. There's many ways to get around through the park." The park shelters as well as Marathon Junction will be open all week.
