EAGLE RIVER, Wis (WSAU) The treasurer of the Eagle River Jaycees pled 'no contest' to felony theft charges yesterday. Michelle Albaugh admitted to withdrawing more than $5,000 from the club's account for personal use. She also used the club's debit card to pay for meals, gas and to cover some of her father's bills.
A separate false identity charge was dropped as part of the plea bargain, although a judge may consider it at sentencing to determine restitution. She'll be sentenced in September.
The Eagle River Jaycees named Albaugh woman of the year last year.
