Nekoosa woman arrested for allegedly driving drunk, speeding with infant in car

BLACK RIVER FALLS, WI (WTAQ) - Charges are pending against a central Wisconsin woman suspected of driving drunk at over 100 miles an hour with a baby on board.

The State Patrol said 23-year-old Jolyn Beighley of Nekoosa is in the Jackson County Jail on 8 possible traffic and criminal counts.

Officials said Beighley's vehicle was speeding Tuesday morning on Interstate 94 near Northfield. As she was being taken to jail, troopers said the suspect damaged the patrol car by trying to kick out the rear window.

Her 3-month-old infant was turned over to the Jackson County protective services' office.

Online court records did not list charges in the case as of mid-morning. She was booked on possible counts of reckless endangerment of a child, OWI with a minor in the vehicle, criminal damage, and driving with a suspended license.

Records indicated that she has been convicted twice of driving without a license, and obstructing police. Those convictions were in Sauk County over the past decade.
