Scott Stapp Says He Still Has Emotional Connection to Creed Songs

Unlike many artists who tour during the summer, Scott Stapp tends to take it easy and spend most of the warmer months with his kids. This year is no exception, although the singer and former Creed frontman has signed on to perform a select few festival shows, many of them Christian music-based.

Though the set lists for his shows contain many solo selections -- including a bunch from his latest album, Slow Suicide -- Scott Stapp tells ABC News Radio that "it's hard to pick" favorites from his catalog. In fact, when asked directly to name a couple that really resonate with him emotionally, Stapp answers, "a lot of them...I can identify still with all of them on some level, even at my current age and place I am in this world."

That holds true for Creed hits as well. Though his split from the band wasn't the friendliest of breakups, Stapp feels emotionally close to the music he and his former band mates created together. He tells ABC News Radio, "I think the ones that were our biggest hits, the ones that I'm playing on solo tour, I still really connect with and feel them every time I sing them."

Between enjoying summer with his kids and playing a couple of one-offs, Stapp is putting time in working on his next album, tentatively called Dying to Live.
