Stabbing near Loyal leaves man hospitalized

LOYAL, Wis. (WSAU) -- An altercation near Loyal Monday left one man with a stab wound and police searching for another man.

Clark County Sheriff Gregory Herrick says the two men were drinking and got into a heated argument at about 11:30 p.m. They received a call for an ambulance a short time later.

The victim was David Contreras, who is now hospitalized at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. Contreras has a single stab wound to his upper abdomen.

Police are looking for 34-year-old Victor Ytehua-Tzompaxtle. Deputies don’t know what he was wearing, but he’s described as a hispanic male who is 5 foot 10 inches tall, 185 pounds, has black hair and brown eyes. Deputies don’t believe the public is in danger, but encourage anyone that knows his whereabouts to contact the sheriff’s department. The toll free number is 800-743-2420.
