OSHKOSH, Wis. (WSAU) -- The U. S. Air Force Thunderbirds make a first-ever appearance as a full squadron at the Experimental Aircraft Association’s “AirVenture” in Oshkosh starting on Friday. Communications director Dick Knapinski says, it’s a long-anticipated highlight for the show. According to Knapinski, “They have wanted to fly here for a long time. We’ve wanted them here for a long time. We’ve worked through the logistics, and so they will be here on August first, second, and third, flying their full show as part of the afternoon air show.” In addition to the Thunderbirds, Knapinski says there’s still four more big days of the air show left, “with everything from airplanes to air shows, musical entertainment to movies, to evening presentations! It’s all on the program this year.” The fly-in runs through August 3rd and you can find the full schedule of events at www.eaa.org/en/airventure.
