Milwaukee man charged with voter fraud

MILWAUKEE (WSAU-Wheeler News) Prosecutors said a suburban Milwaukee man voted five times in the recall election against Governor Scott Walker in 2012. 50-year-old Robert Monroe of Shorewood has been charged with 13 felony counts of election fraud. He's free at least until his initial Milwaukee County Circuit Court appearance on July 17th.

Prosecutors said Monroe used addresses in Shorewood, Milwaukee, and Indiana to vote multiple times in four elections.

In the 2012 presidential contest, authorities said Monroe voted absentee in Shorewood on November first -- and then showed a driver's license to vote in Lebanon Indiana on the November 6th Election Day. Officials said he owned a house in Indiana.

His criminal complaint said Monroe also voted twice in the 2011 State Supreme Court election, and the 2011 recall vote against Senate Republican Alberta Darling. Prosecutors said Monroe also cast an illegal ballot in the August 2012 partisan primaries.
