WAUASAU, Wis (WSAU) A woman accused of throwing a newborn baby in a dumpster is working on a plea bargain. 33-year-old Zoua Yang had entered a not guilty to concealing the death of a child. Yang claimed the baby was stillborn.
She told investigators that she didn't know she was pregnant, and gave birth in a bathroom. The baby's remains were put in a plastic bag, and were eventually taken to the Marathon County landfill. The child's body was never found.
Yang has been held in the Marathon County jail since she was arrested, unable to post $1,000 cash bond. She's due in court April 10th. The result of the plea agreement won't be known until then.
