Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones will be hitting the road in the U.S. this June but, alas, it won't be with his old band mates.  The multitalented musician will be joining the Americana outfit Dave Rawlings Machine for a six-show outing that runs from a June 18 performance in Boulder, Colorado, through a June 27 concert at Nashville's famous Ryman Auditorium.

Jones plays mandolin in the acoustic folk group, which also features Rawlings longtime musical partner, singer/songwriter Gillian Welch .  He also toured with Dave Rawlings Machine this past fall.

Meanwhile, the debut album by Jones' experimental electronica side project Minibus Pimps , Cloud to Ground , was released earlier this month.  You can listen to a track from the album, "Superbolt," online now at Prescription PR's SoundCloud page .  The spacy, ominous instrumental tune features a variety of ambient drones and a cacophony of what seem to be a electronically generated birds and wild animal noises.

Minibus Pimps is collaboration between Jones and Norwegian producer/musician Helge Sten , who also records under the name Deathprod .  The duo has been working together on and off since making its live debut in 2011.

Here are all of Jones' upcoming tour dates with Dave Rawlings Machine:

6/18 -- Boulder, CO, Boulder Theater
6/20 -- Telluride, CO, Telluride Bluegrass Festival
6/24 -- Kansas City, MO, Uptown Theater
6/25 -- St. Louis, MO, The Sheldon
6/26 -- Louisville, KY, Brown Theatre
6/27 -- Nashville, TN, Ryman Auditorium
