Gallardo Struggles In Final Spring Tuneup

PHOENIX, AZ (LEARFIELD-WSAU) Yovani Gallardo struggled in his final spring outing for the brew crew as Michael Brantley and Jason Kipnis drove in two runs apiece to send the Cleveland Indians to their 18th win of the spring, 10-2 over the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday.

Brantley tripled, singled and walked to increase his spring average to .522. Kipnis doubled and singled. Lonnie Chisenhall hit his third home run off Brewers starter Yovanni Gallardo.

Nick Swisher went deep against Francisco Rodriguez.

The Brewers managed three singles against Justin Masterson, who had his final spring start before opening the season on the mound in Oakland.

Gallardo will be the opening day starter when Milwaukee hosts Atlanta. It will be Gallardo's fifth opening day start. This final tuneup was Gallardo's sixth start of the spring. He came into the game with a 2.45 ERA in 18 1/3 innings. Gallardo pitched two innings and three batters into the third. He allowed four runs on six hits and four walks against the Indians
