WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) -- A joint investigation by two sheriff’s departments has led to the seizure of weapons, drugs, and cash.
Price County deputies investigating a March 17th burglary had information that several stolen weapons were at one of two locations in Marathon County. Marathon County Sheriff Scott Parks says they executed two search warrants on March 19th and 24th. “We located some controlled substances, electronic devices, around $6,000 in cash, and then we also executed a second search warrant in the City of Wausau on March 24th, and in that particular search warrant, we seized more electronic devices, eleven rifles, one shotgun, one crossbow, ammunition, and some drug paraphernalia.”
Parks says the officers and the SWAT Team found more than what they were looking for, and the suspects are being questioned. “The weapons were stolen in the Price County burglary, and they have three persons (in Price County) that they are currently involved with questioning pertaining to this entire incident, along with two other individuals that were arrested on the 17th during that search warrant execution.”
On March 19th, 31-year-old Dustan Truax was arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver. 22-year-old Cody Wenzel was arrested on a probation violation. Neither of them had the weapons but will face drug charges in Marathon County. The other suspects are being questioned in Price County.
