HATLEY, Wis (WSAU) A man is charged with breaking into the Hatley Library and Senior Center, causing thousands of dollars in damage. 34-year-old Jeremy Kurasz removed and pushed through a gas fireplace to get inside the library. He was caught in his car a few blocks away.
Shoe prints that match Kurasz's boots and chemicals from a fire extinguisher also tied him to the break-in.
Police are not sure if anything was taken, but there was extensive damage to the outer hallway and a rest room.
Bond's been set at $5,000 on charges of burglary, criminal damage to property, and drug possession. The motive for the break-in isn't known.
