MADISON, Wis. (WSAU) -- State funding was approved for airport improvements around the state, some in Central Wisconsin.
Funding was approved for improvements and equipment in Marshfield, Tomahawk, and Antigo.
The Marshfield Municipal Airport will improve the approach area of their primary runway. The state will match the city’s $23,657 commitment.
The pavement will also be improved at the Tomahawk Regional Airport with $36,052 coming from the state. $6,313 will go towards snow removal equipment at the Langlade County Airport in Antigo.
Most of the funding for these projects is being provided by the Federal Aviation Administration. The amount of funding provided by the FFA totals nearly $1.5 million.
Governor Scott Walker approved the projects and the state’s portion of the funding Thursday.
