STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) -- A Stevens Point man is facing attempted homicide charges after a home invasion attack earlier this month.
The criminal complaint says 30 year old Joshua Bella broke into a home May 1st and stabbed the occupant, John Richart multiple times with a samurai sword. Richart and a friend were able to stop the attack and subdue Bella by the time police and EMS arrived. Police say the attack may have happened because Bella was kicked out of an apartment Richart owned a year ago.
Bella now faces multiple charges including attempted homicide, recklessly endangering safety, aggravated battery, armed burglary and carrying a concealed weapon. He remains in jail on a $250,000 cash bond. He'll be back in court May 30th for a preliminary hearing.
