Imagine Dragons' Success "Amazing to Watch," Says Dan Reynolds' Wife Aja Volkman

As recently reported,  Imagine Dragons  is in the studio beginning to work on their new album, the follow-up to the gigantically successful  Night Visions . That collection rocketed the band from a Vegas bar band to international acclaim, earning the band a Grammy, five Billboard statues and other awards too numerous to name. Oh, and the record for the longest-running single in the history of the  Billboard  Hot 100 chart.

The members of Imagine Dragons have been openly awed by and grateful for their success when talking to press. A year or so ago,  Dan Reynolds  told  Billboard  that he attributes it to a couple of factors: the band gained exposure bit-by-bit in the early days by never turned down gigs -- no matter how small -- and plain old "Vegas luck."

Imagine Dragons singer Dan Reynolds' wife,  Aja Volkman  -- who herself is a singer, and fronts a band called  Nico Vega  -- is also very conscious of the meteoric rise her husband's band has experienced. She tells ABC News Radio, "It's [been] pretty amazing to watch...[and] for it to happen to a rock band, even more so, is like, 'Whoa.' It happens in the pop world all the time, [like with]  Bruno Mars , [and]  Taylor Swift  in the country world, [but in] the rock world, that doesn't really happen like that."

Volkman and Reynolds have been good friends with  Sonny Moore  -- aka  Skrillex  -- since before he blew up and Volkman jokes that "We were like, 'Oh look, Sonny's huge, this is happening [fast],' and then it's like, 'Dan's [getting huge]. Whoa!' So it feels like it happens more frequently in our eyes or something, but it...doesn't. But we've just seen a few cases where it's been extreme."

Nico Vega's first full-length studio album,  Lead to Light , hits digital and retail outlets on June 22. Its first single is called "I Believe (Get Over Yourself)", which was produced and co-written by Dan Reynolds.

There is no release date announced for the next Imagine Dragons album.
