Full details have been unveiled for the new studio album Slash has recorded with his current band, Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators .  World on Fire will be released on September 16 and will feature 17 songs.

The record will be preceded by the lead single and title track, which will arrive at radio stations on Friday, June 13.  World on Fire was produced by Michael "Elvis" Baskette , who previously has worked on albums by Incubus , Falling in Reverse and Alter Bridge , the latter of which also features Kennedy.  The album marks the former Guns N' Roses guitarist's second full-length collaboration with Kennedy and the Conspirators, following 2012's Apocalyptic Love , which debuted at #4 on the Billboard 200.

In a new Q&A, Slash discusses the differences between the upcoming album and Apocalyptic Love .

"The whole record sounds new compared to the last album," says the guitar great.  "I can't say we were looking to break ground with new technology, because we did this to tape.  But from a tonal and equalization point of view, we definitely broke a lot of new ground."

As for why he thought the song "World on Fire" was a good choice for the album's first single, Slash says, "It's a good kick-off song.  It's up-tempo, aggressive, it's a fun song.  I love the whole world on fire, larger-than-life kind of vibe that the title and lyrics have."

Adds Kennedy, "It's got a certain intensity and drive that made it a compelling choice for the lead-off track."

As previously reported, Slash, along with Kennedy and the Conspirators, will be hitting the road with Aerosmith for a joint tour that kicks off July 10 in Wantagh, New York.  Slash and his group also have scheduled a few headlining shows that they'll be playing on off nights during the trek.
