UNDATED (WSAU) -- Travelers enjoyed slightly lower gasoline prices over Labor Day weekend than the previous three Labor Day weekends. That’s according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. The EIA reports the U.S. average retail price was $3.45 per gallon, which is a quarter a gallon less than June 30th.
The highest gas prices found before the weekend started was in Barron County, where some stations were charging about $3.68 a gallon. The lowest prices were found in counties along the Illinois border.
