"A Small Victory" was the second single from Faith No More's 4th studio album
Angel Dust.
It was described as their most radio friendly single. It reached #11 on the Modern Rock Tracks chart.
Frontman Mike Patton said the song was inspired by his own competitive nature which he got from his dad. He said, "My dad was a coach, so I grew up and I always wanted to win. And well, I found out that I just can't win every game... darn it."
