A little late this week but better late than never, right? I know you're probably reeling after the advice I gave on the waiver wires last week but I was right about Julius Thomas so cut me some slack now.
Last week I was fortunate enough to land Thomas off of the waiver wire and that hurt me because I forgot to start him -___-. I got blown out to begin with so it would have only softened the loss a little bit. Here's who to keep an eye out for on the waiver wires this week:
1. Deandre Hopkins, WR Texans
Hopkins will only be a third option for the Texans all season long, barring injury to Andre Johnson, but he proved his upside in an overtime win against the Titans. Hopkins had seven catches for 117 yds and the game winning touchdown. He was also targeted 13 times by Matt Schaub.
2. Charles Clay, TE Dolphins
If you didn't win the Julius Thomas Sweepstakes (like I did) then Clay is a solid look for a TE if you're in desperate need (like I am in my other league with Scott Chandler & Brandon Pettigrew doing nothing so far). Clay had a rushing TD against the Colts on Sunday and had five catches for 109 yds. He's slowly building a good relationship with Ryan Tannehill and that could be good for future games.
3. Marlon Brown, WR Ravens
With the injury to Jacoby Jones in week one making Brown step up, he has showed out in this opportunity. He's had back to back weeks with a touchdown and with Ray Rice being possibly injured the Ravens could be passing a lot more. Look for Brown to have a bunch of looks this coming weekend.
4. Jason Snelling, RB Falcons
With the injury to Steven Jackson, it could mean that Jacquizz Rodgers starts and Snelling would be the #2 guy this week. If that's the case, look for him to get some carries and pick up some points for you in a possible flex spot or even on your bench for a tie breaker.
I'll be back tomorrow with the second week of "Start 'Em/Sit 'Em" to help you get ready for the third week of football. Hope these guys can help your squad to a win this week!
