The Super B**l had alot of weird stuff...and I'm not talking about Bob Dylan hawking cars for Chrysler. There was a safety on the first play of the game...there was a kickoff return for a touchdown...there was a two point conversion...there was an interception return for a touchdown...in all a good day if you put some money on the prop bets. Those are the bets on certain things happening and you can get odds on the weirder stuff. A $100 bet on a safety being the first score of the game would have won you $4000. A lot of the early money went on Denver but a lot of the late money went on Seattle.
Russell Wilson was pretty poised in his first Super B**l. I'll bet a lot of teams are kicking themselves that they let him getaway. Credit Green Bay native and former front office guy John Schneider for convincing Pete Carroll to pick him in the draft and credit Carroll for making the decision to eat the big free agent contract they gave Matt Flynn to go with the untested Wilson.
College basketball may be as balanced as its been for awhile. Arizona lost to Cal over the weekend and Michigan lost to Indiana. The Badgers cant shoot and dropped their 3rd in a row at home to Ohio State by 1. I'm not panicking like some. I think they will right the ship by tournament time and Nigel Hayes is going to play a big part in what they do the rest of the way. They are at Illinois on Wednesday
Meanwhile the Pointers did it again. They didn't play their best but still beat Superior by 17 to win their 20th in a row.
They travel to Whitewater for a big match-up on Wednesday
What did you think of the halftime show? Bruno Mars channeling his inner James Brown was fine...but the Red Hot Chili Peppers didn't do it for me.And I like a lot of their recorded stuff. This whole halftime extravaganza has become too over the top for me anyway.
Is there anybody cooler than Bob Dylan? I don't think so...
