WAUSAU, Wis (WSAU) - Get ready for a week of activities at the Woodson Art Museum in Wausau.
It starts this Thursday night with the Night Out At the Woodson and their Shaker Celebration. Marketing director Amy Beck says they'll be open until 7:30 in order to celebrate the new exhibits. Three events are scheduled that night, including a lesson in Art History 101 at 5:30, as well as a woodturning demonstration from 5:30 to 7. The Wisconsin Valley Woodturners will plane a curl of pine that can be painted, worn as a bracelet, or given as a holiday gift. The Wausau West Master Singers entertain at 5:30 and 6:15 p.m with traditional Shaker music.
Friday night is Teen Night. Teens will get a chance to craft Shaker-style benches with artists in residence Mark Duginske and Jim Rose. That runs from 6 to 9 pm.
On Saturday, join Door County artist Jim Rose for a gallery walk from 1 to 2 pm as he explains the background for his exhibition Simply Steel.
All the events are free and open to the public. Call the Woodson for more information at 715-845-7010.
