Deciding where to celebrate the holidays is never a problem for Aaron Bruno . While some people like to hang out at home for Christmas, the AWOLNATION frontman says that he prefers to spend his Christmases surfing in the ocean.
“Santa comes in the form of waves for me,” he tells ABC News Radio. “Christmas is the best day to surf because everybody has to do the present exchange so I always time it to go to the beach when I know everybody’s doing their family thing so I get the waves all to myself. It’s sort of my Christmas tradition.”
Bruno added that he’s been hard at work on the band’s sophomore album, although he’s not quite sure when it will be ready. “It’s hard to say if I’m halfway done with it or if I’m a quarter done with it or 75 percent, I have no idea,” notes the singer. “I guess when the time comes that the record has to come out, that’ll be when the album’s done. I have the luxury of time right now and I continue to try to push myself to write better songs.”
