Snyder loses state assembly race to Wright


WAUSAU, Wis (WSAU)  Pat Snyder, former morning host of WSAU radio, has lost his bid for the 85th state assembly seat to Mandy Wright.

With 100% of the precincts reporting, Wright (D) has 13,919 to Snyder's (R) 13,008.


In other state assembly races in Central Wisconsin:

In the 35th assembly district, Mary Czaja (R) has defeated Kevin Koth (D), 55% to 41%.

In the 69th assembly district, Scott Suder (R) has defeated Paul Knoff (D) 64% to 34%.

The 70th state assembly race is too close to call, with Amy Sue Vruwink (D) leading Nancy Vandermeer (R) by 167. 100% of the precincts have reported. A recount is possible.

In the 72nd assembly district, incumbent Scott Krug (R) has a lead over challenger Justin Pluess (D) by 159 votes. A recount is also possible in that race.

In the 86th assembly district, John Spiros (R) has defeated Dennis Halkoski (D), 56% to 44%.

In the 87th assembly district, Mary Willians (R) defeated Elizabeth Riley (D), 69% to 31%.


In the 24th state senate district, Julie Lassa has a lead over Scott Noble, 55% to 45%, a margin of about 7,000 votes.

In Weston, two funding referendum questions were defeated. Question One, which asked residents if they were willing to have property tax increases of $120,000 to pay for bus service, was rejected 3,806 to 3,083. A second question, which asked for an additional $400,000 for general services, was also rejected 3,687 to 3,161.

Marshfield voters have approved $2.5 million in additional school funding at referendum.
