WALES, WI (WSAU) The Milwaukee Brewers say they’re aware of a possible domestic violence case involving reliever Francisco Rodriguez. But because no charges have been filed yet, the team said it would be premature to comment.
According to broadcast reports during the weekend, the 30-year-old K-Rod was arrested early on September 18th at his home in the Waukesha County town of Wales for domestic violence and battery. District Attorney Brad Schimel said Rodriguez was booked and released on bond.
The reports said the pitcher’s girlfriend called 9-1-1. She shares the home with Rodriguez and their child.
Rodriguez had a strong September on the mound, as he allowed no runs in 21 of his final 24 appearances. He recovered from a slump to finish at 2-and-7 with a four-point-three-eight E-R-A.
Rodriguez pleaded guilty in 2010 to attempted assault, after he allegedly attacked his girlfriend’s father. Rodriguez was with the New York Mets at the time, and he was ordered to take anger management classes.
